KEY POINTS FOR OET READING PART A
Here is some general advice to follow every time you practice Part A or your test.
1 Your answers should be short and precise: key information that answers the question asked only.
2 If it’s not in the text, be it a word, a symbol or a number, it shouldn’t be in your answer.
3 Use exactly the same wording as in the text.
4 Do not transform, change or paraphrase. Your answer should be short, exact and accurate.
5 Do not repeat words from the texts or their synonyms from the questions or use words you do not need to, because it may be confusing and make it difficult to understand what you want to say.
6 Do not write full sentences you don’t have time for it.
7 Check your spelling when copying from the text to make sure it is accurate.
8 Check your answers are legible.
