- The task is to write a letter ( formal, informal, semi-formal)
- Identify the type of letter and the purpose of writing the letter
- Write the letter with a good opening and closing format
- Spell words correctly and use common phrases
- Divide the letter into 4 paragraphs
- Introduction
- Problem/solution
- solution/action
- conclusion
- Minimum word count 150
- Time limit 20 minutes
Evaluation criteria
- Task achievement – Respond to the question correctly with minimum 150 words
- Coherence & Cohesion – Present ideas logically in paragraphs, make sensible points.
- Lexical resources – use a wide range of vocabulary
- Grammar range and accuracy – Use a wide range of grammar and sentence structures
TASK 2
- Understand the background information and type of question.
- Arrange the essay into 5 paragraphs
- Introduction – introduce the question and give your view
- Body paragraph 1 – 1st point with example and explanation
- Body paragraph 2 – 2nd point with example and explanation
- Body paragraph 3 – 3rd point with example and explanation (optional)
- Conclusion
Minimum word count 250
Time limit 40 minutes

- Plan your answers well
- Use the whole 2 minutes to speak
- Speak with good vocabularies
- Avoid repeating sentences
Part 3 (Discussion)
- Answer with 3 to 4 sentences
- Answer to the questions
- Always give an explanation to the question
READING
- It is better to write your answers using capital letters
- Read the instruction for all the questions well
- Divide 20 minutes for each session
- Don’t forget to highlight the keywords in passages and questions
